Rockefeller Shawl

This wonderful shawl was one of Stephen West’s earlier mystery KAL.

It is worked in 4 sections. Section One features short row wedges that form a crescent. Stitches are picked up in the second section and worked in stockinette stitch with yarn over shaping. Garter stitch intarsia strips decorate this section. The bottom border in the third section is achieved with slipped stitches and finished with an I-cord bind off. The final section is all easy garter stitch stripes with I-cord edges to finish the shawl.

As you can tell, there is a whole lot of learning to be had with this shaw and Carol will make it all fun and easy. This is her most favorite shawl with all that is going on it is never dull. It is a rather small shawl so though designed for a light fingering weight yarn, it is easily adaptable to heavier yarns.
