Introduction to Ridgid Heddle Weaving: Nov

If you have ever wondered if weaving is fun or just wondered what it is all about, this is the class for you! No experience required! Love it or leave it!

Nancy Wilson from the Lost Art Fiber Studio will be joining us again several times over the Summer for an introduction and continuation of her weaving technique workshop.

She will be using a Schacht Cricket Loom to learn the basics of Rigid Heddle weaving. In this class you will learn the parts of the loom, how to set up your loom, and how to weave. At the end of the class, you will end up with a hand woven scarf, towel or cowl!

This month Nancy will be concentrating on making two thick cotton place mats or a table runner using cotton Bud yarn by Juniper Moon. She has designed a pattern that uses three colors and transitions from one main color to the next with the accent between.  You will use the efull width of the 15″ Cricket loom and make place mats approximatelty 14″ by 22″ or a table runner 14″ by 48.”

  • Loom Rental $15.00
  • Yarn for warp and weft, approximately $30  depending on your choice of fiber
