Socks: the Next Step

Join Carol in her lively designer sock class!

“Embossed Leaves Socks” by Mona Schmidt is one of Carol’s most favorite sock patterns and she wants to share it with you. She says there is so much going on in them that they are a delight to knit!

Following the Tubular Cast-On, the short cuff section is worked in a Twisted Rib stitch which gives you a wonderfully crisp stitch definition! No room for wonky ribs in this pattern! The leafy lace pattern is easy to memorize and continues from the leg to the instep. For the finale, star shaped decreases for the toe complete the leaf motif on the last repeat of the pattern.

Carol will be teaching on DPN’s which is her preferred method for socks, but you may knit the pattern in any way you like: two circular needles, DPN’s or Magic Loop. Bear in mind, however, the class is teaching the pattern, not the technique. You should be familiar with the method you are choosing!
